FTX Requests Politicians To Return SBF’s Million Dollars Of Donations.
Requesting The Return Of Donations
Now-bankrupt crypto exchange FTX was recently revealed to have sent “confidential letters” to politicians and other political beneficiaries of which former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) had previously donated money to.
The crypto exchange’s debtors explain that they “reserve the right” to try and force repayments – plus interest and had previously estimated that SBF had donated around $93 million in total for political donations to multiple political parties.

SBF’s Previous Donations
Previously, following the collapse of his crypto exchange and empire back in late November, SBF revealed that he had been donating to multiple political parties, including both Democratic and Republican, although he stated that his “Republican donations were dark.”
Between the years 2020 and 2022, Bankman-Fried was known to be the Democrats’ second largest donor, donating a total of over $37 million towards Democratic election efforts. But he had never made any donations to Republic parties public because he claims that reporters would “freak the fuck out if you donate to Republicans.”
Since then, however, SBF has been arrested and charged with a number of criminal charges including fraud and money laundering, which if found guilty would land the crypto mogul a life sentence. Bankman-Fried pled not guilty earlier in January and is currently awaiting his next trial in October.
