Twitter Implements Bitcoin & Ethereum Price Indexes
Twitter Implements Bitcoin & Ethereum Price Indexes.
Major social media platform Twitter has just recently unveiled their latest new feature, a live market chart or price index for the two of the largest cryptocurrencies in the world, Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The New Feature
To view the prices of these cryptocurrencies, users will simply need to type “Bitcoin” or “Ethereum” or their relevant ‘cashtags’ “$BTC” and “$ETH” on the search bar where the platform will then show an up-to-date price data for the relevant cryptocurrency.
When you Tweet the symbol of a major stock, ETF, or crypto currency with a $ in front of it (like $BTC), people on Twitter see a clickable link that takes them to search results.
Starting today, these search results will include the pricing graphs for major symbols.

The price chart also includes a “View on Robinhood” link which users can click to be redirected to the Robinhood site, suggesting that Twitter had collaborated with the platform to create this feature, though no official statements have been made.
Aside from the two major cryptocurrencies, this feature also works on showing the prices of some major stocks as well as exchange-traded funds.
For now, this feature only shows the prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum, though the Twitter team does note that they are continuing to grow and expand the feature to cover other symbols and cryptocurrencies.
On December 22nd, Twitter CEO and billionaire Elon Musk claims that this new feature is only “one of many product improvements coming to financial Twitter.”

Musk Steps Down From Twitter
This new feature comes just days after Elon Musk first announced his plans to step down from his position as CEO only months after first acquiring the social media platform.
Elon Musk also recently clarified Yesterday that he will be sticking to his promise to abide by the rules of his Twitter poll and step down from his position like many in the platform have voted as soon as he “finds someone foolish enough to take the job.”
After resigning as CEO, Musk explains that he will still continue to work in Twitter to overlook the platforms software & servers teams.
