This Bored Ape just sold for a $1 Million loss!

Bored Ape Sale

Recently, it was revealed that an anonymous OpenSea user just sold their Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT for a massive loss. The Ape in question, known as BAYC #6588 was sold earlier today for 75 ETH, or around $98,000.

This Bored Ape also made headlines earlier this month when it was originally sold to its new owner for a massive 769 ETH, or around $1.2 million dollars at the time.

For unknown reasons, this holder had mysteriously bought this BAYC NFT for 10 times its worth earlier this month, only to sell it at a massive 694.9, or $1,063,923 loss in just 17 days after first buying it.

Although the holder originally bought it for an insanely high price, way higher than Bored Ape Yacht Club’s floor price of 78 ETH at the time, there’s nothing about this particular ape that makes it exclusively rare, making the massive sale and then the sudden loss selling a weird mystery.

At this point, its still unknown who this holder that sold this Ape for a massive loss was and why they had made these purchasing decisions in the first place.

BAYC’s Recent Activities

The Bored Ape Yacht Club collection itself has been doing relatively well these past couple of months despite the current bear market. Although the floor price has fallen by a few ETH, according to data by CryptoSlam, BAYC’s sales volumes have seen a 130% increase this past month in comparison to last month.

The latest update on Bored Ape Yacht Club also include Yuga Labs’ recent announcement of hiring Spencer Tucker as their first ever Chief Gaming Officer. Tucker, who is a game developer, is expected to be working on further developing not only Bored Ape’s Otherside Metaverse, but also other future web3 games that Yuga Labs may be planning to make in the future.

Earlier this year, Yuga Labs’ CEO Nicole Muniz stated that gaming is one of the companies biggest focuses at the moment. Now, with the hiring of a new Chief Gaming Officer, it seems that Yuga Labs has started to make massive moves in improving their future web3 games.
