M&M releases Bored Ape inspired chocolates! From T-shirts to restaurants, now, Bored Ape NFTs are even being used as the new face of M&M’s limited edition chocolate candies!

M&M x BAYC Chocolates

Recently, in a partnership between Mars and NFT-based band, KINGSHIP, M&M’s has announced the launch of their special limited edition M&M’s featuring certain Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs.

Kingship itself is a band created by Universal Music Group’s (UMG) label 10:22PM. The virtual band is made up of four Yuga Labs NFTs, including 3 Bored Apes and one Mutant Ape. With this new partnership with Mars, Kingship’s logo as well as their Bored Ape NFTs will be featured onto 4,000 special edition M&M chocolate boxes as well as 6000 M&M jars.

These limited edition chocolates were made even more special by their price and rate of which they sold out. The extremely limited edition “gold box” packaged M&M’s were priced at around $100 per box, and only hours after they were revealed, all one hundred boxes were announced to have been sold out.

Aside from that, 3,900 of the regular brown celebratory gift boxes are priced at around $60 each, whilst the other 6,000 regularly gift-jar M&M’s were priced at $40 each.

“We’re excited to continue our Mars foray into the metaverse through this partnership with 10:22PM and KINGSHIP, as a way to engage our fans in a new and exciting space,” Jane Hwang, the Global Vice President at Mars Wrigley said.

Bored Ape’s IP Licensing

These M&M’s have marked the most recent example of the utilization of Bored Ape Yacht Club’s IP licensing.

Aside from Bored Ape chocolates, BAYC NFTs have also been used in commercialization of products like T-shirts and even restaurants like the famed Bored & Hungry restaurant in California that opened earlier this year.
