Hacktivist Group, Anonymous, Release A Video Criticizing Yuga Labs & BAYC

Hacktivist group Anonymous released a video on Sept 26 criticizing blockchain startup Yuga Labs and its Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). 

Yuga Lab’s Alleged Using Esoteric Symbolism in BAYC’s Art

Anonymous’ statement contains a lengthy list of allegations against Yuga Lab for allegedly using esoteric symbols in BAYC’s art, indicating their support for numerous controversial topics, including Nazism, racism, simianization, and pedophilia.

“Anonymous is certain that the BAYC collection and the Yuga labs brand are infected with not one or two — but with dozens of examples of esoteric symbolism and dog whistles reflecting Nazism, Racism, Siminization, and Pedophilic support,” According to the video.

Using extensive research and interviews with key figures, the hacktivist group claims that it can confirm “without a shadow of doubt” that the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Yuga Labs are hiding these esoteric symbols, a conclusion both companies openly disagree with.

A group of activists warned against relegating their accusations to mere “conspiracy theory,” adding that such people are merely ignorant, or “not versed,” or worse, have a financial interest to interfere with their investigations.

Suggesting the Holders to Speak Up

Owners of these artworks are also victims of Bored Ape Yacht Club and Yuga Labs’s trolling, and Anonymous urges them not to remain silent to protect their financial interests.

“Don’t your founders owe you more than this? Many outside the BAYC community continue to whisper how you’ve been deceived in a way that is both unprecedented and unforgivable,”cited from the video.

Among the supporters of the group were investors, partners, and celebrities such as Andreessen Horowitz, Mark Cuban, Dez Bryant, Tom Brady, Ben Simmons, Neymar Junior, Kevin Hart, Drake Bell, Shaquille O’Neal, as well as Lion Tree, Adidas, Tiffany & Co, who urged them to speak out against Nazism, racism, simianization, and pedophilia.
